Made in France, these chisels were part of a liquidation when MOB originally shuttered their business over a dozen years ago.
With a thick, rectangular cross-section blade, firmer chisels are a good choice for rough shaping and chopping work. The high-carbon alloy blades (25° bevels) are hardened to about Rc58 for durability and have hooped beech handles for mallet use.
While the tools are imperfect, displaying some signs of age such as tarnished or loose ferrules and the odd scuff mark, the lacquered blades are in fine condition. Overall lengths are 10 1/2" to 11 1/4". Edge guards included.
Though inexpensive, these are good-quality full-size chisels – you won't go wrong with them for utility work, and they are ideal for rough work.
