These half-round cabinetmaker's rasps are flat on one side with a rounded profile on the other. The flat side is slightly cambered to avoid digging in when working on flat surfaces.
They are available in right- and left-hand versions, with teeth that are set at a slight angle to the handle to align with your dominant arm’s natural movement. The grain 7 (medium) rasps have 10" long blades; the grain 8 (medium) and grain 10 (medium-fine) rasps have 12" blades. Each blade is fastened to a 5" walnut handle with a brass ferrule.
