Hand made by professional smiths in a small factory in Sweden, Gränsfors axes are a pleasure to use. They have grace, heft and balance that reflect good design and craftsmanship.
The mortise axe has a 2 1/4" chisel-like bit for removing waste from mortises in rail fence construction or log building. It weighs about 2.4 lb with a 19" long handle.
Each axe is marked with the initials of the smith who forged it, and is fully honed, ready for use. Supplied with a full-grain leather case and an informative booklet outlining proper usage, cutting techniques and care instructions.
