Description

With a Hudson Bay pattern head, so named for its extensive use during the North American fur trade, this versatile hatchet is an excellent all-around camp axe.

The 1.25 lb head is hafted proud on a 14" grade-A hickory handle. The lighter weight and shorter length allow it to be comfortably carried on a belt or lashed to a backpack. The head is forged from 5160 alloy steel hardened to 52-56 HRC with a generous 3 1/2" cutting edge.

The blade is swept back, allowing you to choke up higher for up-close work or carving. Well suited for camp tasks such as processing kindling and firewood, limbing branches and pointing stakes. A vegetable-tanned leather sheath is included.

Made in the USA by a family-run company that has been producing hand-finished axes and tools of the highest quality and durability since 1886.
