Description

Nothing represents tradition in woodworking like the wooden plane. Many features, such as shape, size, blade and wedge have remained unchanged for hundreds of years.

This plane was traditionally used by "gentlemen" who wanted the best for occasional work, but didn't need full-sized tools. Made of European red beech with a hornbeam sole, it is about 8" long with a 39mm (1 1/2") wide wedged blade (Rc58).

The blade is adjusted by light hammer taps to set angle and projection, a process that permits very fine, quick adjustment.

An excellent small plane, it is less tiring to use than a full-sized plane.

Made in Germany by E.C. Emmerich, the maker of Primus planes, traditionally the finest wooden planes available.
