Made from a single piece of ebony, this plane has a hand-forged high-carbon steel blade. The blade tapers from 1/8" in thickness at the shoulder to 3/32" at the bevel, and is bedded at 45° and secured with a wooden wedge. Best suited for use on softwoods (or with the grain on hardwood), as this type of blade is wedged farther from the edge, and is prone to chatter on heavier cuts or in difficult grain. The length of the plane is 240mm, width is 24mm, blade is 25mm and toe is 73mm.
