Veritas Seconds Event
One Day – Online Only – Limited Stock

About Veritas seconds: this stock of our right-hand small plow plane (05P5801) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.

Our small plow plane excels at cutting grooves, rabbets, tongues and decorative beading. Closest in size to the classic Record #044 plane, the preferred size of the old-style plow planes, it is an excellent (and quieter) alternative for work often performed with a router.

  • 9" long ductile cast iron body machined with a 45° blade bed
  • 6 5/8" long fence registers solidly to the workpiece; through drilled for adding a wooden fence extension
  • Double guide rods and collet locking system prevent racking
  • Large brass knobs make adjustments fast and easy; fence can be offset from flush to 1 1/2" from the blade
  • Adjustable shoe controls depth of cut (max. 1/2" deep); relieved edges avoid marking work
  • Includes a 1/4" wide lapped A2 steel blade; over forty additional blades and blade sets are available
  • Weighs 1 3/4 lb
  • Patented
  • Made in Canada
