Useful in any tool kit (or tackle box), these are very well-made pliers. Though called angler’s pliers, they’re not just for fishing use but also excel at any wire work.

The pliers come with a tough nylon belt sheath and a detachable tether; this set adds a kit of spare parts for replacing the jaws, wire cutters and mounting screws.

• Mating teeth give the needle-nose jaws firm grip on even fine-gauge wire
• Jaws have three notches for bending heavier-gauge wire or crimping wire sleeves
• Wedge-shaped nib on one of the jaws is designed to pry open split rings; also useful for hooking behind wires when extracting them from hard-to-reach spots
• Anvil-style wire cutter made of tungsten carbide for durability
