These slip-joint pliers have several advantages over standard pliers. Instead of having a neutral tooth pattern, they are lined with teeth angled in opposite directions on either side of the jaws for enhanced bite when loosening or tightening.
The jaws also have an asymmetrical design that captures three sides and two corners of a fastener, reducing slippage and minimizing the risk of rounding the corners.
The fine-tooth mechanism lets you adjust the jaw opening to closely match the size of the fastener – pressing the spring-loaded button releases the slip joint to permit free jaw travel up to about 1 1/2", and releasing the button locks the setting. Once the setting is locked, the close fit makes it easier to rotate the jaws around the fastener for quick, reliable repositioning.
The sturdy coated handles provide a sure, comfortable grip. All-steel, reinforced two-piece construction with a black-oxide coating for rust resistance.
