Designed specifically for the Ashley Harwood bolstered turning tools, these handles let you interchange blades quickly, so you can select the best combination for the task at hand.
The handles are made of carbon fiber composite that is strong and lightweight, and doesn’t transfer vibration, reducing hand fatigue and improving control. One end of the hollow handle has a hexagonal ferrule with a threaded post and tapered socket connection for blade attachment, creating a rigid, secure assembly. The opposite end has a bayonet connection, so you can store tools within the two larger handles, locking them together with a twist. The 1.4" diameter handles have aluminum ferrules and are weighted towards the cutting end, helping to maintain registration on the tool rest.
Though the handles accept any blade, there are recommended combinations. The 8" handle works best with the 3/8" vortex tool or delicate cuts with the 1/2" bowl gouge. For general use, the 16" handle nicely complements the 1/2" and 5/8" bowl gouges, providing leverage and control. The 23" handle is for situations calling for significant leverage, such as when using the 5/8" bowl gouge or 3/4" bottom-finishing bowl gouge.
Excellent, well-designed handles, made in USA.
