Developed by renowned woodturner Ashley Harwood, this spear-point detail tool makes quick, easy work of incising sharp V-groove details.
The blade is CPM 10V, a high-vanadium (10%) powder metal steel known for its exceptional toughness and wear resistance. It holds an edge much longer than M2 high-speed steel, a significant advantage for a tool with such a fine tip (20° included angle).
Milled from 3/8" rod stock, it comes sharpened, ready for use, and is hardened to Rc62-64 along its full length. CBN wheels are recommended for resharpening.
The unique bolster permits the tool to interlock with the Ashley Harwood handles (sold separately) to provide quick blade changes and safe, compact storage within the handles.
Measures 6 1/2" long from bolster to tip.
