Description

This 36" × 48" plan is complemented by a detailed instruction book that contains a bill of materials, a cutting list, jig and fixture plans (where necessary), alternative construction notes, and suggested finishing techniques.

With this plan, you can make an exact reproduction of a Union tool chest that set the standard for excellence at the turn of the 20th century. The chest is assembled with finger joints and has a locking front door that stores under the bottom drawer.

The drawers vary in size and run on wooden rails that fit flush in the case. The front of each drawer has a small detail that is made with a scratch tool (described in the instructions). A plan for a carry box with a locking door is also included. Chest measures 26" wide by 14" high and 10" deep; carry box measures 29 1/4" wide by 16" high and 12 1/2" deep.

Skill level – Beginner.
