For use with a Festool Domino DF 500 paired with the Veritas Domino Joinery Table, these thicker shims supplement the shims supplied with the table, expanding the range of possible mortise positions by offsetting the bit farther from the table surface in precise, repeatable increments.
Made from anodized aluminum, the set of eight shims includes two each of 10mm, 12mm, 14mm and 16mm thicknesses. Like the original 6mm shims, they can be placed in either of the table’s two shim positions (+0mm, or -1mm); having the full range of shim sizes (including 6mm) lets you choose offsets ranging from 5mm to 21mm from the reference face of the workpiece. In double-mortise applications, the offset distance can also be referenced from a previous mortise position, using one of the shims to establish the center-to-center spacing of the mortises.
The set comes with a pair of 1 7/8" long studs to accommodate the extra shim thickness when mounting the DF 500 to the table.
