With a tight 3mm orbital pattern that leaves smooth, even surfaces, combined with a compact 3" × 4" platen that permits precise sanding right up to an edge, this is a superb sander for finishing work. Its ergonomic design makes it highly maneuverable and comfortable to operate for long sessions, while the platen’s bevelled sides help avoid contact with adjacent surfaces when working into tight spots.
At 4" tall and weighing just under 1kg (2 lb 3 oz), it has a well-balanced, ergonomic design that makes it easy to handle. It’s compatible with a range of Mirka sanding pads, so you can select from a full line of abrasive types and grits to match the application.
Powered by a 14' grounded cord, its 250W brushless motor performs comparably to a 360W conventional motor. It has a low noise rating of 70 dB as well as low vibration output (3.3m/s²) and pairs with the myMirka app to monitor long-term vibration exposure.
Effectively dust-free in use, it has a rear port for connection to a 1" diameter vacuum hose, and a pattern of holes in the platen that draws dust from across the entire sanding pad, extracting dust right at the source to greatly reduce clean-up time.
In variable-speed mode, the upper control paddle lets you adjust speed on the fly without interrupting your work; pressing the paddle increases the rpm, and a lighter squeeze slows the motor. In fixed-speed mode, you can lock in any of five settings within its 5000 to 10,000 rpm range, with the paddle serving as an on/off switch to stop the tool within seconds.
