03J7389 - Rikon 10" Deluxe Bandsaw (Model 10-3062)
This item is not available for this region.
This updated version of Rikon’s compact bandsaw improves on a tool that was already impressively accurate and easy to operate, with design modifications that make it even more user-friendly.
The fence has been redesigned for greater rigidity to resist deflection, to lock more positively, and be easier to adjust to compensate for blade drift. The fence can be switched from a conventional vertical orientation to horizontal for better safety when working with narrow stock. You can also now use any common miter gauge, as the miter slot has the standard 3/8" Ă— 3/4" dimensions. The stamped steel stand is also included. Additionally, the table has a low-friction coating for smoother workpiece travel that provides the additional benefit of inhibiting rust.
The saw still has a welded steel frame for rigidity, as well as low-friction sealed bearing blade guides above and below the table to help prevent twisting and deflection. The upper guide/blade guard assembly uses a rack-and-pinion mechanism that permits smooth height adjustments. This is a powerful saw for its size. The 1/2 hp motor can be set to 1515'/min. or 3280'/min. In our testing, we had no difficulty using the supplied blade to make clean cuts in 3" thick walnut. Maximum cutting height is 5", and the fence can be set for rip cuts up to 9 5/8" wide. Â A rear-mounted 2 1/2" port enables effective dust collection.
Unique to Rikon, blade changes and bearing adjustments are done without tools. Instead of the usual grub screws, low-profile knobs secure the bearings, which are spring-tensioned to retract automatically during blade changes but are easy to reposition before locking them back down.
When you've finished a work session, a release lever lets you instantly loosen blade tension to prevent premature blade fatigue and wear to the saw’s bearings, tires and spring. The rip fence is equipped with a direct-reading scale for quick, accurate positioning when re-sawing.
A good choice for small workshops, it is relatively easy to move and store. Comes with a 5/16" Ă— 6 tpi regular-tooth blade; additional 70 1/2" long blades are available. Backed by a 5-year warranty.
