Quantity:
Specially formulated for knife making, this epoxy excels at bonding dissimilar materials such as carbon or stainless steel (as well as ferrous and non-ferrous metals) to wood, bone, antler or composites.
The low-viscosity fluid spreads well, flowing easily into hidden-tang mortises to form a tight, waterproof seal. Suitable for both full- and hidden-tang knives.
Working time at 21°C (70°F) is 45 minutes. Do not use below 10°C (50°F). Cures fully in 72 hours. Machinable in 12 to 14 hours. A two-part system, 1:1 ratio.
The small kit includes 2 fl oz of epoxy and 2 fl oz of hardener, and the large kit includes 8 fl oz of epoxy and 8 fl oz of hardener. As with any two-part epoxy, coverage depends on how efficiently it is mixed and applied; for example, the small kit should be enough for at least three average-size kitchen knives, or as many as a dozen if carefully prepared to minimize waste. Shelf life is approximately 3 years if stored as directed.
