As an alternative to sanding grooves and recesses by hand, these simple strips let you use a power sander, saving considerable time and effort on trim work or raised-panel constructions. The hook-backed strips mount to any 3" × 4" sander that has a backing pad with a loop facing, creating a projection under the abrasive so it contacts the walls and floor of the groove evenly.
Best used with Abranet and Abranet Ace net abrasives to maximize dust extraction, each strip measures 4" long by 1/2" wide. Supplied as a sheet of 12 tear-away strips that can be used individually or in tandem to sand wider recesses.
Available in two densities; for sanding grooves on contoured surfaces, the 6mm thick soft strips conform to curves to maintain consistent contact with the work, while the 10mm thick medium-density strips are best suited to sanding flat-bottomed grooves.
