Snakewood (Brosimum guianense) – A deep reddish brown wood with vermiculated patterns of alternating light and dark resembling snakeskin, it is straight grained with a fine, even texture but is extremely dense, so it dulls tools quickly and has a tendency to splinter.
Nominal measurements are 3/4" square by 6" long.
