Quantity:
Bolivian Rosewood (Machaerium spp.) – Also known as pau ferro or morado, it ranges from reddish/orange to a deep violet/brown, typically with contrasting black streaks. A fine, even-textured wood, it is quite dense and tends to dull tool edges quickly. It is mostly straight grain that turns and finishes well but can have areas of irregular or reversing grain that are prone to tear-out.
Available in three sizes suitable for small turnings, these blanks can also be useful when you need only a small amount of wood, such as for inlays, plugs, splines or other decorative accents.
Sizes listed are nominal. As with most natural materials, minor variations in dimensions, color, texture and other characteristics are to be expected.
