It depends on the tool's port and the collector's intake, so match the hose diameter to whichever is smaller. This hose is available in 2 1/2" and 4" diameters to cover most shop setups.
Polyurethane hose holds up better to abrasion, punctures and chemical exposure, and its wire skeleton is about 30% heavier than the PVC hose we offer, so it resists collapsing under suction. If your setup doesn't demand that extra toughness, PVC is a lighter, more flexible option, but polyurethane is the sturdier choice for demanding shop use.
