Veritas-Barron Saw Guides

A licensed modification (by British master craftsman David Barron) of the Veritas patent, the Veritas-Barron saw guides are precise aids for woodworkers who cut joinery by hand. Each is machined from solid anodized aluminum and fitted with recessed rare-earth magnets that are covered by a low-friction coating. This allows the saw to move smoothly against the surface at a fixed cutting angle to maintain accurate alignment throughout the cut.

The dovetail saw guides are offered in five angles for cutting 1:4, 1:5, 1:6, 1:7, and 1:8 slopes, covering the common ratios used for hand-cut dovetails. This range lets you select an angle based on the desired balance of joint strength and visual appearance. To complement the dovetail guides, the 90° saw guide is useful for finger joints, cutting tenons or small on-the-spot trimming cuts, and the 45° is a practical guide for consistent miters.

All are best used with a dozuki-style saw.
