Q: What is a t-nut?
A t-nut is a threaded insert that gets hammered or pressed into a predrilled hole in wood, where barbed prongs hold it in place to give you a permanent, reusable metal thread for a bolt. These four-prong t-nuts (3/8-16 thread) use a 1" flange and a 7/16" barrel to seat into the wood.
