It’s hard to say what’s more fun, building these remote-controlled vehicles or operating them afterwards. The kit supplies everything you need to build a variety of machines from parts that you can snap together and take apart as often as you wish – no tools required.
You can follow the detailed pictorial instructions that show how to build eight different vehicles (bulldozer, forklift, crane, skid-steer loader, dump truck, concrete mixer, backhoe, road grader) or explore your engineering creativity by experimenting with your own designs.
Each vehicle is powered by three included electric motors and operated with a handheld controller; three AA and two AAA batteries required. The motors are quiet (although some may find it hard to resist adding their own sound effects!) and visible gears and linkages let you observe how the machines work. Interesting notes and tips in the instructions help explain the principles applied.
While we don’t recommend them for builders under age 6 due to the level of complexity, these are kits that almost anyone will enjoy immensely.
