About Veritas seconds: this stock of our small bevel-up smooth plane (05P3971) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
Comparable in size to a #3 bench plane, this low-angle smoother is useful for final finishing of surfaces, end-grain work and shooting miters. Smaller and lighter than a full-size smoother, it is easier to maneuver and is less fatiguing to use for extended periods.
