A ryoba is a combination rip and crosscut saw.
This ryoba saw has a 9 1/2" long blade with 17 tpi crosscut on one side; the other side has a graduated tooth pattern, 10 tpi next to the haft (for starting cuts) to 7 1/2 tpi at the tip.
Blade thickness tapers from 0.030" at the haft to 0.016" at the tip, and from 0.020" at the tooth line to 0.016" at the blade center. 23" long overall. Canvas blade case included.
A ryoba is a combination rip and crosscut saw with teeth on both edges of the blade, giving you two tooth patterns in one tool. Unlike a single-edge saw, it has no back spine, so cut depth is not limited by a stiffener. This model has 17 tpi crosscut on one edge and a graduated rip pattern on the other.
The rip edge graduates from 10 tpi near the haft to 7.5 tpi at the tip. The finer teeth at the haft make starting a cut easier and more controlled, while the coarser teeth at the tip increase cutting speed once the saw is tracking in the kerf.
The blade is tapered in both dimensions – thicker at the haft and tooth line, thinner at the tip and center – which provides clearance in the kerf and allows the saw to track freely with minimal binding during the cut.
Yes, a canvas blade case is included. It protects the teeth during storage and transport and helps prevent accidental contact with the unguarded edges of the dual-sided saw.
