41M0120 - HORL 3 Pro Rolling Knife Sharpener
_Best_Bet.jpg%3Fbranch%3Dproduction&w=384&q=75)
The HORL 3 Pro combines the straightforward operation of the HORL rolling system with faster material removal and a wider selection of sharpening angles.
Its internal planetary gear mechanism increases the speed of the abrasive disc independently of the roller housing. For every full rotation of the housing, the disc rotates three times, allowing the sharpener to cover more of the cutting edge with each pass. This makes the initial establishment of a bevel significantly faster, particularly on hard steels or knives being converted to a different angle.
The supplied adjustable support provides six grinding angles. A sliding insert has three indexed positions, presenting paired angles of 15° and 20°, 13° and 22°, or 10° and 25°. Small windows in the base identify the selected angles.
The finer settings are intended for hard steels and delicate cutting work, while the wider bevel angles produce stronger edges for more demanding use. This range also lets experienced users match an existing bevel more closely or select an edge geometry suited to a specific knife.
Cushioned magnetic faces hold the blade securely, and two non-slip strips keep the support stable on the counter. Once the knife is positioned, you roll the sharpener along each side of the cutting edge, with the guide maintaining a constant angle throughout.
The roller and angle support have dark-bronze-finished aluminum bodies. They come supplied with standard diamond and smooth ceramic discs. The standard diamond disc uses monocrystalline diamond abrasive that retains its cutting action even on hard knife steels, efficiently establishing or renewing the bevel. The smooth ceramic disc is then used to refine the grinding pattern and remove the burr. Both attach with HORL’s Quick Lock system, permitting quick changes to optional coarse, fine and polishing discs, offered separately.
Made in Germany.
