For those who want to refine a knife beyond the excellent working edge produced by the standard diamond and ceramic discs, this set provides three progressive finishing stages.
The fine and extra-fine discs are made from corundum and used dry. Fitted in sequence after the standard diamond and ceramic discs, they progressively smooth the grinding pattern and refine the cutting edge.
The firm leather strop provides the final step. Drawn along both sides of the bevel, it removes residual burr and sharpening debris, leaving a clean, polished edge. No honing compound is required.
