Yielding an effective cutting angle of 37° to minimize fiber tearing, the 25° bevel replacement blade for the Veritas small bevel-up smooth plane is 1/8" thick, lapped, and available in PM-V11 tool steel. For working difficult grain, optional 38° and 50° bevel blades, as well as a toothed A2 blade, are also available.

They fit the Veritas small bevel-up smooth plane.
They come in 25°, 38° and 50° bevel angles. The 25° blade suits general smoothing, while the steeper bevels handle more difficult grain.
The 25° blade gives a 37° cutting angle, the 38° blade gives 50°, and the 50° blade gives 62° for very difficult grain.
The blades are ground from PM-V11 tool steel and lapped flat on the back. O1 and A2 versions are also available.
Each blade is 1/8" thick, matching the original blade for the Veritas small bevel-up smooth plane.
