Founded in 1981, Misenheimer has built its reputation supplying precision tooling to woodworkers, cabinetmakers and CNC operators. Made in the USA from solid carbide and honed on 600x diamond wheels, these bit cut with a continuous shearing action to reduce chatter, leaving crisp, clean edges with minimal tear-out.
For clean edges on both faces of the work, their mortise compression-style flute pattern combines upcut flutes at the tip and down-cut flutes at the shank end, shearing fibers toward the center of the workpiece for exceptionally clean cuts. They have a shorter upcut section at the tip than standard compression bits, best suited for shallow cuts. Since this pattern evacuates chips less aggressively, it works best at a slower feed rate to prevent clogging and overheating.
The cutting flutes are coated with a micro-thin ceramic that increases wear resistance and lubricity to prevent heat build-up and oxidation, prolonging edge life.
