Ideal for workpieces that are prone to splitting, inserts reduce the stress on individual wood fibers by distributing the load over a larger area. They are also reversible, enabling you to swap out nails and screws without having to drill another hole.

Inserts can be used in many types of wood projects but are particularly useful in furniture construction for joining pieces together – mounting hairpin legs to a live-edge table, for instance.
