This automated watering system keeps up to 10 houseplants watered for several weeks at a time.* Ideal for plant owners who are frequently away, it is also a good choice in a greenhouse, where steady watering is important.
The combined pump and timer unit draws from a bucket or other water reservoir (you supply), distributing it through PVC hoses to up to 10 included drippers. Clear prompts such as “how long,” “how often” and “start time” printed on the dial guide make it easy to set or adjust the watering schedule to your needs, displaying the details on a digital screen. Watering duration can be set from 20 seconds to 20 minutes, at intervals from 8 hours to 30 days, and you can pause the cycle for 24, 48 or 72 hours. The cycle-and-soak function lets you apply small amounts of water in timed pulses, giving it time to soak into the soil, so less is lost to runoff and evaporation.
For each dripper, the flow rate is approximately 3ml per second; however, the amount your plants receive depends on proximity to the reservoir and the number of drippers used. Arranging your plants based on their size and water needs is recommended to avoid over- or underwatering.
The system includes 10m (33') of 4mm inside diameter PVC hose as the main line and 3m (9'10") of 3mm inside diameter PVC hoses to branch out to the individual drippers, as well as various press-fit connectors, so you can simply cut the hoses to length and arrange them as needed. It also includes one in-line filter to help prevent blockages, three end stoppers, one bracket for hanging the pump on the rim of a bucket, 10 cable ties and a USB charge cable.
*Under typical indoor conditions, a 5 gallon (19 litre) reservoir can supply up to 10 medium-size potted plants for approximately 5 to 6 weeks, depending on plant type and watering requirements.
