Description

This unusual-looking feeder is designed to help birds in two ways. First, it provides an effective way to serve suet, holding it inside a framework that keeps the mixture neatly contained, while offering lots of room for birds to perch and feed. Second, during nesting season, you can fill it with fibrous material such as straw or scraps of wool – a big help in developed areas that lack the natural vegetation birds need to make nests.

Made of tough recycled plastic, the 8 1/2" tall two-piece feeder snaps shut securely yet is easy to open for filling or cleaning. A simple, practical design.

The National Audubon Society gives these tips to help stop the spread of bird diseases such as avian flu. Clean feeders and bird baths with a solution of nine parts water to one part bleach every two weeks. Use multiple feeders to make it easier for birds to feed at a distance from each other, and remove feces and seed casings from below feeders regularly.
