Description

Dear Customer,

Sometimes it’s the hardware you can’t see that makes a real difference in your home. While hardware has always been used as an accent or decorative element in the home, recent trends have focused more on improving its function.

As an aging market moves to smaller spaces, we have seen a substitution of quantity for quality; we buy fewer items, but now look for better ones. Under-mount concealed slides with built-in dampers now enjoy wide acceptance where ball-bearing slides once ruled. Push-to-open mechanisms allow for drawers and doors without traditional surface-mount handles and knobs. Larder units and sliding shelves make the most of dedicated storage space, while aiding in organization. Gas cylinders and sprung mechanisms move cabinet doors up and out of the way for better access. The change is not just limited to storage hardware; good-quality roller and track door systems are gaining in popularity, and barn-door hardware has already become a mainstream functional and decorative option.

But the largest change in the hardware we’ve seen to date is not what you might expect. LED lighting systems, which are both functional and decorative, have become so simple and straightforward to install that they have opened entirely new possibilities for homeowners. It is becoming as easy to change the shape and color of light in a room – something that was just not practical a few short years ago – as it is to slap on a new coat of paint, and it’s a lot more fun to do.

Cheers,
