SOSS 2 3/4" Invisible Hinge

This versatile hidden hinge offers exceptional strength, security and smooth operation. Regular hinges support weight on a single knuckle located outside the jamb, but this hinge places the weight on multiple moving pivot points within the hinge body so it can bear heavy loads. It seats flush in a deep mortise to resist sagging, remaining inconspicuous and tamper-resistant when closed. The interlinked laminated steel plates move smoothly and silently, opening 180°. Easily installed with a drill in wooden doors and frames (see note below).

Minimum material thickness of 1" required. Cast in heavy-duty zamak, with a satin brass, satin chrome or black finish, this hinge is designed to last a lifetime. Instructions, screws and drilling template included.

Note: You can use a drill to cut mortises for SOSS hinges; however, using a plunge router with spiral upcut bits gives better results since they cut cleanly and clear material efficiently. You can easily make a router-mortising jig using the included drilling template.
