With a 3/8" × 5/8" cross section, these slides require only 1/4" of side clearance since one slide member is recessed 1/8" into the drawer side. If you want to recess the slide 1/4" into the drawer side, you need only 1/8" clearance on either side.
These are steel slides with smoothly functioning ball-bearing carriages. Load rating is 22 lb for the 12 1/4" slides and 25 lb for the 17 1/4" slides. Both lengths have just over 2/3 projection and need a carcass depth at least 1" more than the slide length for easy mounting.
