Rolling the top of the bag a few times and fastening the clip quickly forms a reliable waterproof seal without taking up any of the bag's 30 litre capacity. It's made of thick 500-denier vinyl-coated polyester with strong reinforced seams.
The small outer pocket has sealed seams and a zipper with a pull that tucks under a hood to keep water from seeping in. The back panel and adjustable shoulder straps are lightly padded for comfort and mesh lined for breathability; adjustable gear straps on the front can be removed without affecting the waterproofing.
A chest strap helps distribute the weight, and a handle at the top is useful for carrying the bag short distances. Loops of reflective material increase night time visibility and provide convenient attachment points for accessories such as carabiners.
Note that the bag is as good at keeping moisture in as keeping it out – something to consider before tossing damp sports gear inside and forgetting about it for a week.
