97K5020 - Crucible Lump Hammer

Combining features of a mallet and a small sledge, this compact hammer is useful for a range of shop work, from closing or opening woodwork joints to setting and releasing holdfasts.
With a steel head weighing over 2 lb, it has heft to deliver a solid strike when aggressive action is needed for driving out bolts or disassembly. For tasks requiring more finesse, you can use a choked-up grip, letting inertia and the head’s mass do the work while you focus on control.
The 1 1/2" × 1 1/2" × 4" head is made from 4140 alloy steel that has been hardened, then tempered to Rc28-32; striking faces are slightly domed with a smooth finish. Fitted with an octagonal hickory handle, the hammer is 11 1/2" long overall and weighs 2 1/2 lb.
Made in USA.
