About Veritas seconds: this stock of our 25° PM-V11 bevel-up bench plane blade (05P3472) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch or tiny blemishes – but the blade is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
This 2 1/4" wide lapped PM-V11 tool steel blade is compatible with our bevel-up jointer, jack and smoother planes.
The 25° blade is the best choice for all end-grain work, including shooting. The resulting 37° cutting angle effectively severs end-grain fibers and minimizes tearing. This blade is also capable of general smoothing, but is susceptible to tear-out in all but the most well-behaved grain.
