Description

With this set, you can convert almost any rotary tool into a miniature plunge router for fine detail work. The set includes the Veritas plunge base, a fence and center kit, a precision adjuster and a pair of 12” fence rods.

The plunge base allows precise depth control for hardware and inlay recesses, or even freehand relief carving. Low-slung grips and a 4" × 3" footprint make it easy to position on narrow surfaces and close to edges.

A cutaway in one side lets you see the exact position of the bit. Depth of cut is controlled with a stop post with a micro-adjust screw; you can plunge as needed, or lock in the depth using a lever for continuous cuts.

Grooves near the base let you hold and guide the tool using just your fingertips while keeping your palms close to the work for excellent control. Made largely from aluminum with stainless-steel rods and knobs, it fits onto the 3/4-12 threaded collar found on most rotary tools (including most full-size Dremel tools). Patented.

The fence and center kit lets you use the edge of a workpiece as a reference when making cuts, and can also be set to accurately guide the tool when cutting arcs or circles. It includes two straight fences made of torrefied maple (both 6" long, one 1 1/2" wide and the other 5/8" wide for thin stock), a pair of curve guides, a circle head with three interchangeable centers (sharp pin, 1/4" post and flat disk) and a pair of 6" fence rods.

The 6" rods allow offsets from zero to 4 1/2" with the straight fences and diameters from 1/2" to 17 1/2" with the circle head. The pair of 12" extension rods extends the fence's reach.

The precision adjuster clamps to the fence rods and attaches to the fence holder or circle head, letting you fine-tune their settings with a thumbscrew.

These items can also be purchased individually.

We offer a 6" long traveller separately.
