SawStop Professional Cabinet Saw

SawStop saws offer a safety feature unique in the industry: a braking system that can reduce a potentially severe injury to just a minor cut. Within 5 milliseconds of detecting contact between your skin and the saw blade, the braking system automatically stops the blade, retracts it under the saw’s table and shuts off power to the saw’s motor. This all happens quicker than the eye can see and certainly faster than anyone can react. If the system ever activates, the blade and brake cartridge are easy to replace, returning the saw to normal operation in just a few minutes.

To ensure the safety system is in working order, the saw runs a self-diagnostic every time you turn on the power switch. If an issue is detected, a pattern of LED lights indicates its source. A temporary bypass mode lets you cut electrically conductive materials that can cause false activations, such as very green wood. If you’re unsure about a particular piece of stock, you can make test cuts in bypass mode and the LEDs will tell you if the material would trigger the brake in normal mode. Other safety features include a blade guard, a riving knife, anti-kickback pawls, hands-free shut-down, and a power switch override to prevent accidental or unsupervised activation.

While the SawStop safety system is unique and effective, these are also exceptional table saws that deliver excellent cut quality, accuracy and reliability. Fences glide smoothly yet are rigid when locked, blade height and tilt adjustments are backlash-free, and dust collection is a priority, not an afterthought.

The 10" professional cabinet saw weighs about 320 lb or about 90 lb more than the SawStop contractor saw for improved vibration dampening – a key factor in cut quality. V-ribbed drive belts and heavy-duty motor mounts also help minimize vibration. A vertical gas-assisted rack-and-pinion system permits exceptionally smooth and precise blade height adjustment, and a precisely balanced motor-trunnion assembly offers similarly smooth and finely tuned tilt settings, ensuring accurate alignment between blade and miter slot at all blade heights and tilt angles.

The professional cabinet saw is available in 1.75hp and 3hp versions. The 1.75hp model is pre-wired for use with standard 110V AC power, but it can be adapted to use 220V AC with an optional kit (sold separately). The included blade guard has three separately hinged side panels to minimize exposure of the blade yet still allow good blade visibility. The 3hp model requires 220V AC power and is equipped with an upgraded dust collection blade guard. Each model is available with 36" or 52" rails.

You can select a premium aluminum fence, a steel T-Glide fence, or the T-Glide Advance fence, which is made of steel with a reversible aluminum face. Each fence permits precise positioning on either side of the blade With all three fences, you can fine tune the fence/rail clamping force, the parallel alignment to the saw miter slots, and the perpendicular alignment to the saw table. Each saw comes with a wooden side table with a low-friction laminate surface.

The professional cabinet saw equipped with the premium fence has the smallest footprint for this saw model and has a 30" rip capacity. The fence is an aluminum extrusion with low-friction plates on each side.

The T-Glide fence is a robust Biesemeyer-style fence with removable low-friction face plates. It is made of heavy-gauge steel, which adds rigidity for negligible deflection even in heavy use.

The T-Glide Advance is SawStop’s adaptation of the classic Unifence* for safety and accuracy on rip cuts and when crosscutting smaller stock. The steel fence’s aluminum face is reversible for use on either side of the blade and has a dovetail track for mounting accessories. It can be set horizontally so it won't obstruct a push stick or blade guard when working with narrow stock, and can be positioned ahead of the blade, creating space so it won’t trap offcuts against the blade.

*Note: Long hailed as one of the most practical table-saw fences ever made, the Delta Unifence had a movable face that could be set horizontally or vertically to suit the thickness of the work and could slide back and forth on the main body of the fence. When positioned ahead of the blade, it created space that prevented the offcut from binding between the blade and the fence, reducing risk of kickback. That combination of safety and cut control is what made the Unifence a benchmark design – and why SawStop chose to build on it here.
