Manufacturer’s special offer. Until August 14, 2025, this two-grit set of diamond stones is available at a saving of 18% compared to buying them individually at our regular prices. After this date, each of the two stones will be sold separately, but the set will not be available.
For beginners and experts alike, diamond stones offer a fast, low-maintenance sharpening method. This set of 600x and 4000x monocrystalline diamond stones provides a basic but effective range of grits to get you started, covering the full process, from reestablishing a bevel to final polishing.
Consisting of diamond particles fused to a 3/8" thick steel substrate, which is then nickel plated for rust resistance, the 3" × 8" stones have non-slip rubber feet. They are made to a flatness tolerance of ±0.001" over their length, with a consistent abrasive surface that extends right to the edges of the stone. Highly resistant to wear and damage, they require no lapping or truing to maintain flatness through extended use, even with tools such as card scrapers that are notoriously hard on stones. They also need minimal lubrication, making them a good choice in locations without easy access to a water supply.
Although these grits were selected specifically for use in the woodworking shop, this pairing works well for a range of general sharpening tasks. The fine (600x/25μ) produces a well-formed edge, ready for final polishing with the medium-extra fine (4000x/6μ) stone, quickly yielding a keen edge on most common tool steels. Made in USA.
A wider range of grits from 120x to 8000x can be purchased separately.
