Description

With a semi-solid consistency, Odie’s Wax contains a high proportion of wax and only a small amount of oil, so it buffs to the highest sheen of any Odie’s finish, yielding a warm, semi-gloss surface. As a stand-alone finish, it is a good choice for light-colored woods because it doesn’t change the color much.

It can also be applied on top of Odie’s Universal and other oil finishes to increase sheen and improve resistance to moisture and wear. Suitable for all wood species, it can be used on interior or exterior woodwork.

A blend of natural waxes and oils, it is free of solvents and VOCs. Application is straightforward – simply work it into the surface using an extra-fine abrasive pad or cloth, and leave it to soak in for 1 to 2 hours before buffing.

It enhances the figure while only slightly deepening the tone of the wood, and though a low-build finish, it has high resistance to liquids, sunlight and abrasion.

Only a single coat is required; for greater protection, additional coats may be applied without sanding. No sanding is needed between coats, making the finish easy to renew or repair.

With exceptionally high yield, it provides coverage of approximately 190 sq.ft. per 9 oz jar, depending on the porosity of the wood. Drying time is about 24 hours; for contact with food or liquids, allow 3 to 5 days to cure fully.
