In panel glue-ups, cauls are placed across the glue lines and secured with clamps to ensure the boards remain flush while the glue sets. Making your own cauls isn’t difficult, but these save you the trouble.
Made from strong plastic, each 4 1/4" long, 1" thick caul has a 1 1/4" wide space between the feet so you can see your glue line. Four screw holes in each let you mount a series of cauls to a wooden batten to span large glue-ups.
