From the latest generation of Kreg’s pocket-hole joinery system, the sturdy, versatile 720 jig is quick to set up and easy to use. Containing everything you need for a wide range of pocket-hole joinery, the kit can be used on its own or in combination with other components of Kreg’s modular, expandable 700-series system.
To hold the jig in position while you drill, its built-in lever-operated clamp can be tightened one-handed. The jaws automatically adjust for stock from 1/2" to 1 1/2" thick and have non-slip liners to prevent shifting. An adjustment knob lets you control the clamping force to permit a firm hold without marring the work. Once set, it automatically maintains the same force regardless of stock thickness, so you can switch workpieces without making adjustments.
Made of glass-reinforced nylon with a steel core, the drill guide block contains three hardened steel bushings that let you space two holes 9/16", 7/8" or 1 7/16" apart, depending on material width.
The included 6 1/4" HSS stepped drill bit has a 3/16" diameter by 1/2" pilot, a 3/8" diameter counterbore, and a 1/4" hex shank that’s grooved for use in quick-change chucks. For easy, accurate depth settings, simply align a hole in the supplied depth collar with one of the engraved markings on the bit shank, indicating the correct placement for 1/2", 3/4" and 1 1/2" thick material.
To improve stability when working with sheet goods or other large stock, it also includes two sturdy stock-support wings that snap into place on either side of the jig (and are just as easy to remove when not needed).
The wings have a hinged lid to double as storage for small accessories such as pocket-hole screws and drill bits. Sliding work stops travel on a 6" track on the top of each support wing and can be locked in position to ensure precise, repeatable hole placement up to 8 3/4" from the edge of a workpiece.
An included snap-in shroud connects to a 1 1/4" vacuum hose (1 7/8" and 2 1/2" adapters also included) for easy debris clearance, with a pivoting outlet so you can orient the hose to avoid obstruction. The jig also comes with a table clamp to secure the jig to a workbench or other work surface, a combination hex key and material-thickness gauge, two #2 square-recess drivers (6" and 3" long) and 160 pocket-hole screws (one hundred 1 1/4" screws and sixty 2 1/2" screws).
As a limited offer, this kit comes with a Kreg small auto-adjust clamp, which has a 3 3/4" reach and holds material up to 2 7/8" thick. A thumbscrew adjusts the clamping force, so you can apply a light hold for delicate work or up to 400 lb of force at the maximum setting.
In addition, the kit includes full project plans for a console table made with pocket-hole joinery, as well as 50 bonus screws: 10 each of 1" coarse pan-head, 1 1/4" fine washer-head, and 1 1/4", 1 1/2" and 2 1/2" coarse-thread washer-head screws.
