Description

These water-resistant sticks are harvested from stumps left behind in forests where sustainable yield forestry practices are used; no live trees are cut to make Fatwood. The sticks have an extremely high resin content, which causes them to burn as though they were steeped in fat or oil. Exceptionally useful for starting camp or cooking fires, the wood/resin combination is easily ignited.

To use, abrade a small area of the stick to raise the wood fibers and ignite it with either a match or spark from a fire steel. The stick is then used to ignite suitable campfire material. It can be left to burn or snuffed and reused.

Offered in a 1 1/2 lb bundle. Whole sticks can be used to start fires in fireplaces and wood stoves.
