Like the complete build-your-own skateboard kit that we offer separately, this kit was developed by Toronto skateboard builders Roarockit. It includes all the same components as the original kit but without the wheels, wheel trucks and fasteners, so you can custom-build a laminated-wood street deck with the wheel hardware of your choice.
It comes with a Thin Air vacuum press and a mold, used to form the seven precision-cut sheets of 1/16" thick Canadian maple veneer into a strong, warp-resistant 31" × 8" board with the classic “double-kick” shape. The bottom sheet is aniline dyed to a rich hue (various colors, depending on supply).
The kit also includes a scraper, sandpaper, 16 oz of Titebond PVA glue, a glue roller and PSA-backed grip tape for traction on the top of the board.
Once the first board is finished, refill kits of plywood sheets, as well as kits of wheels, wheel trucks and bearings are available separately so you can reuse the same press and mold to make more skateboards.
