Expert pole-lathe turner Robin Wood donated 100 cores, waste wood from his workshop, to the Center for Art in Wood in Philadelphia. The center then sent these cores to 40 artists, who accepted the challenge of turning them into art.

The results can be seen in 240 photographs with descriptions of the art and processes by the individual artists. This book shows how scrap wood can be upcycled into great projects and even inspire you to create your own. It also includes an informative introduction to lathe turning and the manufacturing waste it makes.

A great read for those who are interested in art and how it can be created from unlikely sources. Softcover, 8" × 9", 144 pages.
