About Veritas seconds: this stock of our bevel-up smoother plane (05P3671) has some minor cosmetic flaw – a scratch, a pit in the casting or tiny blemishes – but the plane is functionally perfect. Quantities of seconds are limited and expected to sell out quickly.
With the size and heft of a smoother and the versatile workings of a low-angle bevel-up plane, our smoother plane excels at finishing surfaces, especially woods of difficult grain patterns.

- Coffin-shaped body made of stress-relieved ductile cast iron has a 10" × 3 1/8" sole
- 12° bed angle coupled with the 38° blade bevel yields an effective cutting angle of 50°
