Description

Nothing represents tradition in woodworking like the wooden plane. Many features, such as shape, size, blade and wedge have remained unchanged for hundreds of years. They are light and non-tiring to use.

Used for rough planing of high spots from a surface prior to smooth planing, this scrub plane has a 33mm (about 1 3/8") wide wedged convex cutter to enable fast stock removal.

The 9 1/2" long body is European beech with a hornbeam sole. Blade is chrome vanadium (Rc60-62).

The blade is adjusted by light hammer taps to set angle and projection, a process that permits very fine, quick adjustment.

Made in Germany by E.C. Emmerich, the maker of Primus planes, traditionally the finest wooden planes available.
