Quantity:
Developed by renowned woodturner Ashley Harwood, these bowl gouges are designed for push-cut turning, a method that allows highly controlled material removal. They have parabolic flutes and are shaped to a 40/40 grind (40° sweep with a 40° bevel), resulting in clean cuts with minimal effort.
The blades are CPM 10V, a high-vanadium (10%) powder-metal steel known for its exceptional toughness and wear resistance. They hold an edge significantly longer than M2 high-speed steel, so you can spend more time at the lathe and less time sharpening. CBN wheels are recommended for resharpening.
Milled from rod stock, each tool is hardened to Rc62-64 along its full length and sharpened to a long-lasting edge.
Their unique bolster permits them to interlock with the Ashley Harwood handles (sold separately) to provide quick blade changes and safe, compact storage within the handles.
Both measure 10 3/4" long from bolster to tip and have 6 1/4" long flutes.
Premium-quality tools, made in USA.
